The Marathon Class Fun Run

The Marathon Class Fun Run. 1/10th the miles. All the legend.

The Marathon Class (1982–1998) Fun Run
1/10th the miles. All the legend.

Bartlett Hall Courtyard // November 1 // 11:00 a.m.

In the ’80s and ’90s, UNI professors David Whitsett and Forrest Dolgener inspired students with a one-of-a-kind Marathon Class — part running, part mental strength, all heart. Now it’s back ... just shorter! Relive “the marathon class”– minus 90% of the pain!

This free fun run is a 2.6 mile tribute to the legendary UNI course taught by Professors Whitsett (psychology) and Dolgener (physical education) that blended fitness and mental health, earned national recognition, and inspired classes across the country. Come walk or run three campus laps, celebrate 150 years of UNI and honor a course that went the distance.

All participants will receive a commemorative sticker.

If you are unable to attend, but would like to honor Dr. Whitsett’s memory, please consider contributing to the David A. Whitsett Legacy of Imagination Endowed Scholarship at UNI, which will support future generations of students studying psychology.
