CEDAR FALLS, IA and ATLANTA, GA – The University of Northern Iowa and its trademark licensing agency, CLC, have partnered with Kurt Warner and his agency, Priority Sports, to develop and launch a UNI Panthers merchandise line celebrating Warner’s legacy. The collection, which pays homage to Kurt with unique apparel featuring his likeness and historical logos, launches this week in conjunction with a preview screening of the new Kurt Warner movie.
"We're bringing back a vintage look for loyal fans to help celebrate Kurt's success and the legacy he has left at UNI,” said UNI Athletic Director David Harris. “The UNI community is excited for the movie featuring our Panther legend. This new product line will help commemorate that."
The Kurt Warner Collection will officially launch December 17, 2021, at a limited-run pop-up shop at a special early viewing of “American Underdog” in Waterloo, IA. The movie from entertainment company Lionsgate releases nationwide on Christmas Day and highlights the inspirational story of Warner’s time at UNI, his unconventional path and challenges to the NFL, and his eventual successes as a two-time NFL MVP, Super Bowl Champion, and Hall of Fame quarterback. Fans attending the special movie screening received tickets compliments of Kurt Warner.
The Kurt Warner collection includes a vintage replica UNI football jersey and apparel from top licensees Original Retro Brand and Homage. This new product will become a part of the ongoing UNI ICONS program, an existing and ever-growing merchandise collection celebrating UNI greats.
