2024 GOLD & Bold Awardees

Dylan Keller, '14, '16

Dylan Keller

Dylan is a first-generation 2014 and 2016 UNI grad who studied history and political communications. He is currently employed by the Iowa Senate, where he is a legislative analyst. In this role, he is responsible for providing detailed policy analysis for senators. He has successfully staffed 161 bills that have earned the signature of the governor and become law. He has also volunteered for the past several years as a leader for the Iowa HOBY (Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership) seminar.

As a UNI student, Dylan was involved in a variety of student organizations and really enjoyed being in the Varsity Men’s Glee Club. Dylan continues to be connected with UNI as a member of the UNI Alumni Association Board, a member of the Central Iowa Alumni Club, is vice chair of the College of Social Behavioral Sciences Advisory Board and is a silver kingpin in the glee club. Dylan has also received other young alumni awards from UNI such as being named to "5 Under 35" by UNI STAT in 2017 and the Outstanding Young Alumni Award from the UNI Varsity Men’s Glee Club in 2021.

Tatiana Rice, '16

‌Tatiana received her B.A. in criminology from UNI in 2016, then continued on to Washington School of Law in St. Louis. She is currently the Deputy Director of United States Legislation at the Future Privacy Forum in Washington, D.C. Professionally, her position at the Future Privacy Forum involves the analysis of legislative, regulatory and legal developments regarding data privacy, artificial intelligence and facial recognition. She provides expert testimony in legislative hearings and works directly with state and federal lawmakers to advance laws and regulation that balance individuals' civil and privacy rights while fostering innovation and ensuring the responsible use of emerging technologies.

Tatiana stays connected to as a Panther through the Political Science department and UNI Athletics. She connects with senior criminology seminar students via Zoom to share insights, knowledge and advice to soon-to-be graduates. She also provides mentorship to students who are interested in law school. Recently, UNI Athletics interviewed Tatiana in celebration of Black History month. As a law student, she served as the Vice President of the Student Bar Association and was awarded the Jack Garden Humanitarian Award.

Jamal White, '18

Jamal White

Jamal is a 2018 UNI business, management and marketing UNI graduate. He is employed by Procter & Gamble where he serves as the HR Director for Global Research & Development and the Global Equity & Inclusion Leader for Gillette. Jamal leads diversity, equality and inclusion efforts across the global Procter & Gamble organization to deliver representation goals. He works to build an inclusive organization where all talent is valued, included and empowered to be their full, authentic selves. He is also a strategic business partner to senior leadership, providing coaching on organizational design, culture, capability and internal communications.

Jamal has achieved several outstanding awards to recognize his exceptional leadership within the organization, one being the BOLT award. The Bold Outstanding Leaders of Tomorrow (BOLT) is a program that recognizes just 10% of global Gillette employees for delivering breakthrough results and being identified as top talent within the organization. Jamal has also been a recipient of the CEO Award at P&G that recognizes just 3% of the global organization for their exceptional contributions to deliver growth and value creation for the company.

Jamal has stayed connected to UNI after graduation by serving on the Alumni Association Board of Managers, an advisory board that supports alumni engagement within the institution. He also invests in the next generation of students by returning as a speaker for workshops and panels and serving as an ongoing mentor to many students across the university. Jamal has intentionally invested his time to impact and improve the lives around him, both in his day-to-day work and in his involvement in the community.
