The Emerging Philanthropist Award recognizes a student who is dedicated to giving their time, talent and treasure to the university, their community or cause(s) of their choice and shows promise as a future philanthropic leader.

The Emerging Philanthropist Award recognizes a student who is dedicated to giving their time, talent, and treasure to the university, their community, or cause(s) of their choice and shows promise as a future philanthropic leader. 

Nominations for 2026 are due Friday, March 6 by 11:59 p.m. Awards will be presented at the Student Leadership Awards on April 14, 2026.

Criteria: 

  • There is evidence that the nominee has made significant contributions of their time to their cause through volunteerism
  • There is evidence that the nominee has contributed their skills and talents their cause or has developed their skills as a result of their involvement with the cause
  • The nominee demonstrates an understanding of the importance of financial giving through their own gifts or fundraising efforts
  • There is evidence that the nominee has established a habit of philanthropy that will continue after graduation
  • The nominee demonstrates the values of their philanthropy and shares a vision for the success of their philanthropy
